A solar activity correction term for the IRI topside electron density model

چکیده
In situ measurements by the Low Earth Orbital (LEO) satellites, such as CHAMP, GRACE, and C/NOFS satellites have shown that International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) model has shortcomings in describing solar activity variation of topside electron density. particular IRI overestimates measured densities ionosphere during very low reached last minimum (2008–2009). We used Alouette ISIS sounder data well Swarm to deduce a correction term for density more accurately describes with activity. linear index PF10.7 described latitudinal altitudinal regression parameters A0 A1 (intercept slope). find good agreement between deduced from CHAMP GRACE observations. results show same structure other sets, however, scaling factor is needed obtain absolute values. The new was evaluated sounder, LEO showing significant improvement over current model.

Electron Density Comparison Between IRI 2007 and DEMETER Satellite Data in Solar Minimum Year
Solar activity during 2008 2009 was extremely low among several recent solar cycles, raising an interesting question regarding the temporal and spatial distribution of the plasma parameters in ionosphere during this time period. This study analyzes the electron density (Ne) data recorded by the DEMETER satellite at the height of 670 km and compares it with the International Reference Ionosphere...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
An improved solar wind electron-density model for pulsar timing
Variations in the solar wind density introduce variable delays into pulsar timing observations. Current pulsar timing analysis programs only implement simple models of the solar wind, which not only limit the timing accuracy, but can also affect measurements of pulsar rotational, astrometric and orbital parameters. We describe a new model of the solar wind electron density content which uses ob...
متن کاملThailand low and equatorial F2-layer peak electron density and comparison with IRI-2007 model
Ionosonde measurements obtained at two Thailand ionospheric stations, namely Chumphon (10.72◦N, 99.37◦E, dip 3.0◦N) and Chiang Mai (18.76◦N, 98.93◦E, dip 12.7◦N) are used to examine the variation of the F2-layer peak electron density (Nm F2) which is derived from the F2-layer critical frequency, fo F2. Measured data from September 2004 to August 2005 (a period of low solar activity) are analyze...
متن کاملVariability of F2-layer peak characteristics at low latitude in Argentina for high and low solar activity and comparison with the IRI-2016 model
This work presents the study of the variability of foF2 and hmF2 at a low latitude station in South America (Tucumán, 26.9°S, 294.6°E; magnetic latitude 15.5°S, Argentina). Ground based ionosonde measurements obtained during different seasonal and solar activity conditions (a year of low solar activity, 2009 and one of high solar activity, 2016) are considered in order to compare the ionospheri...
